Homeschool & Afterschool Cooking Classes
With a passion for inspiring people of all ages to get in the kitchen and have fun, Mix Taste Eat offers Cooking Classes in line with the Queensland school term, tailored just for our school-aged students. Lead by a Qualified Nutritionist, these classes provide an opportunity for our younger minds to learn skills in food preparation, cooking, recipe reading and cleaning in a fun and supportive environment.

Please note, we are now offering two classes in 2026 - a beginner and an intermediate class. If your student has previously attended MTE and you’re unsure which class they would belong to, please reach out via email (hello@mixtasteeat.com). Generally, if they’re younger than 11 and/or only have attended one term previously they would be in the beginner classes as our intermediate classes tend to run at a faster pace with more complex recipes.
Classes don’t run on Public Holidays - Term 1 Public Holidays are: Australia Day Holiday (Monday Jan 26th) and Good Friday (April 3rd). There will not be a Monday or Friday class those days. Monday Classes will start Week 2 of Term 1
Online Learning
In 2026
For the first time in 2026, Mix Taste Eat will be offering an online option for Homeschooling students who are not local to our Sunshine Coast studio, or those who are more comfortable cooking at home. These classes will be held via Zoom with recipes and equipment lists accessible the week before so students are able to start ready at home and prepped with the same ingredients as our presenter.
Together they’ll cook along with the instructor, students following the techniques our presenters show so that they end up with the same amazing dish, all from the comfort of their own home!
Online Cooking Class
Welcome to the Mix Taste Eat Beginner Online Program; a confidence-building cooking journey designed especially for young cooks who are ready to explore the kitchen in a fun, safe and achievable way.
Across the next ten weeks, students will join me online to learn foundational cooking skills that set them up for a lifetime of healthier eating and positive food experiences.
These classes are aimed at all ages, work at a medium pace and require parents to be close by for any hot/sharp support.
